Small Pauses Add Up
How We Feel has helped people around the world name nearly 100 million moments.
Most check-ins are not big, dramatic moments. They are small acts of attention, a few seconds where the blur of the day becomes something someone can name.
Helping people create that small pause is what How We Feel is built for.
We are not a therapy app, and we are not here to diagnose anyone or tell people how they should feel. We are a free wellbeing journal for naming emotions, noticing patterns, and learning more about yourself over time.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are grateful to be part of a larger conversation about care, wellbeing, and self-understanding.
How We Feel has now been installed nearly 3 million times. Together, our community has logged nearly 100 million check-ins.
That is nearly 100 million moments where someone made a little more room for what they were feeling. Some of those feelings may have been joyful. Some may have been stressful, confusing, heavy, hopeful, lonely, proud, or calm.
That’s the point. Emotional wellbeing is not about feeling good all the time. It is about building a better relationship with what we feel, one small moment at a time.
Join our caregiver community
As How We Feel grows, we want to stay close to the people using it with others: parents, teachers, therapists, coaches, clinicians, mentors, and anyone helping someone else make sense of what they feel.
We’re starting to bring together a small digital caregiver community: an online space for people who want to use How We Feel with the people they support.
We’re still figuring out the details, but we imagine it as a simple space where caregivers can get support, share what they’re seeing, and help us make How We Feel more useful in everyday life.
The time commitment will be light: likely 15–20 minutes every two weeks to share feedback, with more details to come as the community takes shape.
If that sounds like something you’d like to be part of, reach out to us at support@howwefeel.org.
And if joining is not the right fit, sharing How We Feel is still one of the most helpful things you can do. Send it to someone who might find it useful.
If you already use, share, or support How We Feel, thank you. Every check-in is a reminder that millions of people are trying to understand themselves a little better, and that feels worth celebrating.
